SG Venkatesh Recommended for Director (Technical) at CPCL

SG Venkatesh has been recommended for the position of Director (Technical) at Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited (CPCL), a subsidiary of Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL). The recommendation was made by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on October 13, 2025. Venkatesh currently serves as Executive Director (Petrochemicals) at IOCL’s headquarters in New Delhi.


The PESB’s selection process involved interviews with 11 candidates, including six from IOCL, three from Engineers India Limited (EIL), and two from Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL). Subject to requisite clearances and approval from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), Venkatesh is poised to assume the role at CPCL.

CPCL is a Schedule ‘A’ public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, and the appointment is part of ongoing leadership developments within India’s petroleum sector.
