Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a two-day visit to Gujarat on 25–26 August, where he will inaugurate, dedicate, and lay foundation stones for a series of development projects exceeding ₹5,400 crore across multiple sectors including urban development, power, transport, and green energy.
At Khodaldham ground in Ahmedabad on 25 August, the Prime Minister will launch a host of projects and address a public gathering. On 26 August, he will visit Hansalpur in Ahmedabad district, where he will inaugurate localized production of hybrid battery electrodes at the TDS Lithium-Ion Battery plant and flag off Suzuki’s first global Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) — the “e VITARA.” The Made-in-India vehicle will be exported to over 100 countries, including advanced markets such as Europe and Japan, marking a significant milestone for Make in India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
The Prime Minister will dedicate railway projects worth over ₹1,400 crore, including the doubling of the 65 km Mahesana–Palanpur line and gauge conversion of the Kalol–Kadi–Katosan Road and Bechraji–Ranuj lines. These projects will boost seamless connectivity, reduce travel time, and strengthen regional integration. A passenger train between Katosan Road and Sabarmati, along with a freight service from Bechraji, will further enhance mobility and industrial logistics.
In the road sector, projects include widening of the Viramgam–Khudad–Rampura road, construction of six-lane underpasses on the Ahmedabad–Mehsana–Palanpur road, and a railway overbridge on the Ahmedabad–Viramgam route. Collectively, these will ease congestion, improve safety, and accelerate economic activity.
Power distribution projects worth over ₹1,000 crore will also be inaugurated in Ahmedabad, Mehsana, and Gandhinagar under UGVCL, aimed at reducing outages, strengthening transformer protection, and modernizing infrastructure under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme.

Administrative efficiency will also get a boost with a new Stamps and Registration building in Ahmedabad West and a State-Level Data Storage Centre in Gandhinagar to strengthen digital governance.
The inauguration of Suzuki’s e VITARA and hybrid battery electrode production marks a transformative step in India’s green mobility journey, underscoring the nation’s emergence as a global hub for sustainable innovation.
