Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated two landmark National Highway projects worth nearly ₹11,000 crore in Rohini, Delhi — the Delhi section of the Dwarka Expressway and the Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II). Addressing the gathering, he underlined that Delhi must become a model of growth reflecting the aspirations of a confident, developing India.
Highlighting the significance of Janmashtami festivities, the PM connected the inauguration with the spirit of Lord Krishna, noting the symbolic resonance of Dwarka and Rohini. He said the new expressways would revolutionize connectivity in Delhi-NCR, easing commutes, benefiting traders, farmers, and entrepreneurs, and reducing traffic congestion.
PM Modi emphasized that “good governance is the hallmark of our government,” adding that reforms mean the expansion of governance for people’s ease of living. He announced next-generation GST reforms aimed at delivering “double benefits” for citizens this Diwali. Stressing cultural pride, he invoked the inspiration of “Chakradhari Mohan” (Lord Krishna) for strength and “Charkhadhari Mohan” (Mahatma Gandhi) for self-reliance, urging every Indian to embrace the mantra of Vocal for Local by trusting and buying Made in India products.
