The Government of Bihar has reassigned responsibilities to ten IPS officers, aiming to strengthen law enforcement, streamline operations, and enhance leadership across multiple units of the state police force.
The reshuffle, announced via a Home Department notification, covers key senior ranks and operational posts, from Director Generals to SPs and Commandants, underscoring the state’s focus on dynamic policing and responsive administration.
DG Jitendra Kumar Takes Additional Charge of Bihar Special Armed Police
Jitendra Kumar, a 1993-batch IPS officer recently promoted to Director General (DG) and currently heading the Central Selection Board for constables, has been given additional charge of DG, Bihar Special Armed Police (B-SAP). The move signals an emphasis on reinforcing the state’s special armed police infrastructure.
Key Transfers Among Senior IPS Officers
- Anusuiya Ransingh Sahu (IG, Civil Security) has been reassigned as IG, Training
- Pankaj Kumar Raj, recently promoted, replaces her as IG, Civil Security
- Rajiv Mishra (2010-batch) moves from DIG (Prohibition) to DIG, Railway, with Prohibition charge withdrawn
- Rashid Zaman, DIG (Administration), receives additional charge of DIG (Prohibition)
- Ashish Bharti, DIG, Begusarai Range, now also holds charge of DIG, B-SAP (Northern Circle), Muzaffarpur
Realignment in SP and Commandant-Level Positions
- Mithilesh Kumar appointed SP, Emergency Response Support System (ERSS – Dial 112)
- Kantesh Kumar Mishra becomes SP, CID (Economic Offences)
- Vidya Sagar, previously SP, ERSS, now posted as Commandant, B-SAP 8, Begusarai
- Manoj Kumar, former Commandant of B-SAP 8, is now SP, Surveillance Investigation Bureau
In addition, the additional charge of SP (Economic Offences), CID, previously held by Mamta Kalyani (Bihar Police Service), has been officially withdrawn.
