A comprehensive review meeting of the Rajasthan Tourism Department was convened on Wednesday at Tourism Bhawan, Jaipur, chaired by Rajesh Yadav, Principal Government Secretary, Tourism, Art & Culture, and Chairman, Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation (RTDC), in the presence of Rukmani Riar, Commissioner Tourism and Managing Director, RTDC.


The meeting focused on the implementation and progress of departmental schemes, construction works, and centrally sponsored projects. The Principal Government Secretary emphasized the urgent need to fill vacant posts through outsourcing to avoid disruptions. He directed the appointment of 13 Tourism Officers and 20 Assistant Tourism Officers through alternative arrangements to ensure administrative continuity and efficiency.


Appointment & Capacity Building of Tourism Officers

A detailed presentation was made on the current structure of the department, which includes one directorate, multiple regional and information centers both within and outside the state. With 107 vacancies out of 269 sanctioned posts, Rajesh Yadav instructed that Tourism Officers be appointed based on functional requirements and stressed the need for upskilling officers to boost productivity.


Draft Policy Review: Film, Tourism & Adventure

Discussions were held on the draft versions of the Rajasthan Film Policy, Rajasthan Tourism Policy 2025, and the Rajasthan Adventure Tourism Promotion Scheme 2025. The department was directed to fast-track internal processes and approvals from competent authorities.

The IT branch’s operations were reviewed, with specific instructions issued for service digitization and improvement in IT systems to facilitate online delivery of tourism services. Emphasizing Rajasthan Invest and the Ease of Doing Business initiative, the Principal Government Secretary instructed alignment of tourism services with these flagship initiatives to encourage investments and simplify processes.

Tourist Arrival Data Management

Rajesh Yadav called for a systematic mechanism to record tourist arrivals using real-time data from toll plazas, railway stations, and bus stands. He proposed the development of a dedicated mobile app or software to maintain updated visitor statistics and improve planning.

Publication of “Tourism Festival Book”

He directed the preparation of a “Tourism Festival Book” containing comprehensive information about Rajasthan’s fairs and festivals. This publication will serve as a valuable guide for tourists and promote local culture.

Progress Under SASKI Scheme

It was announced that two major projects under the Sustainable Actions for Strengthening Key Infrastructure (SASKI) scheme were approved by the Ministry of Finance, Government of India:

  • Development of areas around Amer-Nahargarh – ₹49.31 crores
  • Development of the Jal Mahal area – ₹96.61 crores

The first installment of ₹96.30 crores has been released. M/s Foreinfra Private Limited has been appointed as the consultant, and the Jaipur Heritage Municipal Corporation will execute the road corridor beautification from Jorawar Singh Gate to Amer Parking.

Agencies were directed to prepare and submit Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) without delay to ensure the timely execution of projects and efficient budget utilization. These developments aim to enhance the visual appeal, expand tourism infrastructure, and increase footfall at heritage sites across Jaipur.
