The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) is integrating Bhashini, its advanced language translation ecosystem, to ensure seamless communication and accessibility for millions of devotees attending the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, held from January 13 to February 26, 2025.
Digital Lost & Found Solution
A highlight of this initiative is the Digital Lost & Found Solution, which simplifies the process of registering and retrieving lost items at the event. This solution supports 11 languages and includes the following features:
- Multilingual Support: Users can register lost or found items using voice commands in their native languages.
- Real-time Translation: Facilitates text and voice translation for hassle-free communication.
- Chatbot Assistance: Provides multilingual query resolution and kiosk navigation through an AI-powered chatbot.
- Mobile App and Kiosk Integration: Converts important guidelines into local languages for better accessibility.
- Collaboration with Police: Ensures smooth communication with officers to resolve issues.
Kumbh Sah’AI’yak Chatbot
Powered by advanced AI technologies, including Llama LLM, the Kumbh Sah’AI’yak Chatbot was launched by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. This multilingual, voice-enabled AI tool assists visitors by providing real-time information and navigation aids during the event. It supports communication in 11 languages, including Hindi, English, and other Indian languages, creating a user-friendly interface for pilgrims.
UP 112 Emergency Helpline
To further enhance the visitor experience, the UP 112 Emergency Helpline has adopted Bhashini’s ‘CONVERSE (वार्तालाप)’ feature. This allows devotees facing language barriers to communicate effortlessly with the Uttar Pradesh Police. Officers have been trained to use this feature, enabling them to address grievances and provide assistance effectively.
