Amit Sharma Promoted & Re-designated as Secretary to Government of Mizoram

Amit Sharma, a 2012-batch IAS officer of the AGMUT cadre, has been promoted to the Selection Grade (Level 13 in the Pay Matrix) of the Indian Administrative Service and re-designated as Secretary to the Government of Mizoram. The promotion follows an order by the Ministry of Home Affairs dated January 1, 2025, and was formally notified by the Government of Mizoram.


Previously, Sharma served as Special Secretary (Independent Charge) for the Information, Communications & Technology (ICT) and Cooperation departments in Mizoram. During his tenure, he spearheaded transformative initiatives aimed at advancing the state’s capabilities in ICT and fostering development in the cooperation sector.

In a related development, K Zorammuana, also a 2012-batch IAS officer and Special Secretary (Independent Charge) of the Planning and Statistics department, has been similarly re-designated as Secretary to the Government of Mizoram under the same notification.
