Uttar Pradesh government


In a significant administrative overhaul ahead of the upcoming by-elections, the Uttar Pradesh government has transferred 11 senior IAS officers, including Divisional Commissioners of major regions. The reshuffle, announced on Tuesday, features several high-ranking officials reassigned to new roles.

Bal Krishna Tripathi, a 2008 batch IAS officer, has been named the new Divisional Commissioner of Vindhyachal. Similarly, K Vijayendra Pandian, also a 2008 batch officer, will now shoulder additional responsibilities as the Commissioner of Kanpur Division.


Vivek, a 2009 batch IAS officer, has been appointed as the Divisional Commissioner of Azamgarh, replacing Maneesh Chauhan, a 2000 batch officer, who moves to the role of Principal Secretary, Sports and Youth Welfare Department. Chauhan succeeds Alok Kumar (II), who has been relieved of his duties.

Leena Johri, a 1994 batch IAS officer, has been removed from her position as Principal Secretary of the Stamp and Registration Department and Inspector General, Registration, UP. Meanwhile, Amit Gupta, a 2000 batch officer and the outgoing Commissioner of Kanpur Division, has been appointed as Principal Secretary of the Stamp and Registration Department.


Other key changes include Dr. Muthukumarasamy B. (2007 batch), the current Vindhyachal Division Commissioner, now serving as Secretary of the Finance Department. Dr. Rupesh Kumar (2010 batch) has been relieved of his duties as Inspector General of Registration but continues as Managing Director of Uttar Pradesh State Electricity Generation Corporation and Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited.

Additional shifts include Ajit Kumar being assigned as the Divisional Commissioner of Chitrakoot Dham and Narendra Prasad Pandey taking on dual roles as Secretary, Planning Department, and Director General of Finance and Statistics.
