
Bengaluru, 14 December 2024: The Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) proudly co-hosted the prestigious 9th edition of the TiE Global Summit 2024, held from December 9–11 in Bengaluru and December 12 in Mysuru. Organized by TiE Bangalore, this year’s summit, themed “Let’s Celebrate Entrepreneurship”, brought together global leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs to champion the spirit of entrepreneurship and further bolster India’s thriving tech startup ecosystem.
The summit featured the TiE Antar Prerana Leadership Summit as its opening act, followed by impactful sessions with esteemed dignitaries and a vibrant display of pioneering innovations from India’s emerging startups. Over 100 trailblazing startups showcased their cutting-edge innovations at the STPI Sayuj Pavilion, inaugurated by Shri. Arvind Kumar, Director General, STPI, highlights the evolving technological landscape across sectors such as AI, agriculture, IoT, and energy management.
Shaping the Future of Entrepreneurship

During a power-packed session titled “Igniting the Entrepreneurial Spirit,” Shri. Arvind Kumar emphasized the transformative role of startups emerging from Tier-II and Tier-III cities, which now represent over 50% of India’s startup ecosystem. He also noted the increasing leadership of women entrepreneurs in this space and advocated for establishing entrepreneurship schools in rural areas to democratize innovation.

Shri. Kumar further highlighted the expansion of startups into deep-tech domains like AI, edge computing, and ESDM, reiterating STPI’s commitment to fostering innovation through its extensive network of 65 centres (57 in smaller cities) and 24 Centres of Entrepreneurship (CoEs).

Strategic Partnerships Driving Innovation
A key milestone of the summit was the signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) between STPI CoE in Efficiency Augmentation and leading industry players, including:
- Intel Technology India Pvt. Ltd.
- Bosch Global Software Technologies Pvt. Ltd.
- Schneider Electric India Pvt. Ltd.
- Global IEEE Institute for Engineers (GIEEE)
These partnerships aim to harness expertise in cutting-edge technologies such as AI, IoT, edge computing, energy management, and automation. The collaborations are set to empower startups with resources, mentorship, and technical support, driving innovation and fostering entrepreneurship across the nation.
Unveiling STPI SAYUJ
The STPI SAYUJ platform, a first-of-its-kind networking and resource discovery tool for startups, was a focal point of the summit. Shri. Arvind Kumar engaged with SAYUJ startups, offering mentorship and strategic guidance to foster scalability and innovation. He encouraged startups to adopt a “Just Do It” mindset, emphasizing consumer-centric innovation and the potential for leveraging Indian capital to fund local ventures.
A Vision for India’s Tech and Electronics Ecosystem
In a fireside chat, Shri. Arvind Kumar outlined STPI’s ambitious vision for expanding India’s electronics sector to USD 300 billion by 2026. He underscored the pivotal role of startups in achieving this target and the importance of collaboration between academia, industry, and government.
