The Uttar Pradesh government has issued promotion orders for 95 IAS officers, presenting them with a Christmas gift of career advancement. The Department of Appointments and Personnel announced the promotions on Wednesday, which will take effect from January 1, 2025. This development includes officers from the 2000, 2009, 2010, and 2012 batches and is expected to trigger a reshuffle in postings, significantly impacting district magistrates and commissioners across the state.

Promotions to Principal Secretary

IAS officers from the 2000 batch, including Saurabh Babu, Manish Chauhan, Ranjan Kumar, Anurag Yadav, and Ranvir Prasad, have been elevated to the Super Time Pay Scale (Rs. 1,82,200–Rs. 2,24,100). Additionally, Amit Gupta and Deepak Aggarwal received promotions contingent upon completing mandatory mid-career training within two years.

Promotions to Secretary


Eighteen officers from the 2009 batch have been promoted to the Super Time Pay Scale (Rs. 1,44,200–Rs. 2,18,200) and elevated to Secretary rank. Notable names include Brajesh Narayan Singh, Rakesh Kumar Mishra, Ramakant Pandey, Anand Kumar Singh, and Rajesh Kumar. Another group of 18 officers from the same batch has been promoted under similar pay scales, also subject to mid-career training requirements.

Selection Grade Promotions

From the 2010 batch, Bhawani Singh Khangaraut has been promoted to Selection Grade (Rs. 1,23,100–Rs. 2,15,900), with training requirements set for 2025. Sanjay Kumar Yadav from the 2011 batch has received similar promotions under identical conditions.

Promotions for the 2012 Batch

Twenty-two officers from the 2012 batch, including Amit Kumar Bansal, A. Dinesh Kumar, Shiv Prasad, Renu Tiwari, and Shesh Mani Pandey, have also been promoted to Selection Grade (Rs. 1,23,100–Rs. 2,15,900).
