7 Senior IPS Officers transferred in Bihar, Kundan Krishnan appointed ADG Headquarters

In a significant move, the Bihar Police Headquarters announced the reassignment of seven senior IPS officers on Tuesday, introducing key changes across various departments. Kundan Krishnan, a 1994-batch IPS officer recently back from central deputation, has been appointed as the ADG (Headquarters) of Bihar Police.


Pankaj Darad, an IPS officer from the 1995 batch, has assumed the role of ADG (Law and Order) while retaining his position as ADG (Special Vigilance Unit). Previously, he served as ADG of the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS).

Jitendra Singh Gangwar, a 1993-batch IPS officer, has been relieved of his additional DG (Headquarters) duties and will now focus solely on his role as DG (Civil Defence).

Sanjay Singh, an IPS officer from the 1997 batch who was formerly the ADG (Law and Order), has been reassigned as ADG (Training).


Shaleen, a 2001-batch IPS officer and IG of B-SAP, has been appointed IG of ATS while continuing to oversee responsibilities as IG of B-SAP.

Vivek Kumar, a 2007-batch IPS officer and previously DIG of the Crime Investigation Department, will now serve as DIG of Bhagalpur East Zone. Vivekananda, a 1996-batch IPS officer and the current Bhagalpur DIG has been named DIG of the Special Task Force (STF).
