Union Minister for Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME), Jitan Ram Manjhi, inaugurated the “MSME Pavilion” in Hall No. 6 at the 43rd India International Trade Fair (IITF) in New Delhi today. He was joined by Dr Rajneesh, Additional Secretary & Development Commissioner (MSME), and other senior officials from the Ministry.

The MSME Pavilion, themed “Green MSMEs,” focuses on the Ministry’s emphasis on sustainable practices and the adoption of clean, green technologies to revolutionize MSME operations. The exhibit also spotlights the “PM Vishwakarma Scheme,” a flagship initiative launched on September 17, 2023, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This scheme provides comprehensive support to artisans and craftspeople engaged in 18 traditional trades.

The Pavilion features participation from 200 exhibitors, representing 29 states and union territories. Products on display include textiles, handlooms, handicrafts, leather footwear, toys, bamboo crafts, gems and jewellery, ceramics, and various mechanical items. The event provides Micro & Small Enterprises (MSEs), particularly those led by women, SC/ST entrepreneurs, and businesses from Aspirational districts, with a platform to showcase their offerings to a vast audience of potential buyers.

Reflecting the Ministry’s commitment to inclusive development, 71% of the 200 stalls are reserved for women entrepreneurs, and 45% are designated for SC/ST entrepreneurs at no cost. Additionally, 35% of stalls are reserved for entrepreneurs from Aspirational districts, with more than 85% of exhibitors participating for the first time.

Jitan Ram Manjhi engaged with exhibitors, applauding their contributions and encouraging their active involvement. To raise awareness about the PM Vishwakarma Scheme, a lively ‘Nukkad Natak’ performance was staged at the Pavilion.
