The Appointment Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has announced several key appointments and reassignments across departments. Adarsh K R Urs (IDAS: 2010) will serve as Director in the Department of Space, Bengaluru, for five years. Manasa Gangotri Kata (IRS C&IT: 2007) has been appointed as Director in the Department of Financial Services, Delhi, for a similar term. Anoopa Sankarankutty Najr (IES: 2010) will join as Director of the Department of Commerce, Delhi. Himanshu Kaushik (IAS: 2018: AP) has been assigned as Additional Private Secretary to Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment B L Verma, co-terminus with the minister’s tenure.
Rahul Shrivastava (IFS: 1999) is set to be the next High Commissioner of India to Namibia. Ravindra Prasad (ITS: 1997), currently CVO at Northern Coalfields Ltd., has been repatriated prematurely. Shruti Agnihotri (IRAS: 1998), CVO at Engineers India Ltd., has been given additional charge as CVO at Oil India Ltd. Sanjeeb Kumar Mishra (IAS: 1997: OR), Secretary-cum-Controller of Examination, National Recruitment Agency, has been repatriated early, with an extended cooling-off period.
Rakesh Kumar Verma (IAS: 1993: PB) will continue as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Jal Shakti for one more year beyond January 28, 2025. L. Satya Srinivas (IRS C&IT: 1991) has received ex-post facto approval for a six-month extension as CEO of Government e-Marketplace. Naresh Pal Singh (IRSEE) will assume the role of General Manager, Banaras Locomotive Works, Varanasi. Anand Kumar (IRAS: 2001) has been named Establishment Officer of the Railway Board, succeeding Sanjiv Narain Mathur (IRAS).
Rajender Kumar (IOFS: 1997) will extend his term as Joint Secretary, Department of Food & Public Distribution, for another year. Mohan Kumar Singh (IRS C&IT: 1989) and Yogendra Garg (IRS C&IT: 1990) have been appointed as Members of the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs, effective December 1, 2024, and January 1, 2025, respectively. Dr. Annapurni Subramaniam is now the Director of the Indian Institute of Astrophysics, Bengaluru. The ACC has also approved promotions for multiple scientists within the Ministry under the Merit Promotion Scheme.
Suvasish Das (IFoS: 2005: AM) will serve as Director in the Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances until June 2026. Dharmendra Kumar Madan (IOFS: 1994), CVO at PGCIL, has been repatriated early. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri’s tenure has been extended until July 14, 2026. Sushma Kindo (IES: 2010) and Sanjay Singhal (IPS: 1993: UP) have been appointed as Director in the Department of Commerce and Special Director General of the Border Security Force, respectively.

In other appointments, Shrikesh B Lathkar (IAS: 2011: AP) will serve as Private Secretary to the Minister for Civil Aviation, Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu. Monika (IPS: 2014: HP) has joined the Department of Rural Development as Deputy Secretary. Kanse Dhairyashil Vijay (IRS: 2010: C&IT) will be Joint Managing Director at NAFED. Additional postings include Karuna Kumari (IAS: 2010: AM) and Karma R Bonpo (IAS: 2010: SK) as Directors in Agriculture and Census Operations, respectively.
Vijay Singh (IFoS: 2011: MP), S Sharad Rao (IOFS: 2011), Amit Kumar (IOFS: 2012), Aminkhan Yasinkhan Shaikh (IRS: C&IT: 2011), and Sweta Satya (IES: 2012) have also taken on roles as Deputy Secretaries across key ministries.
