India has made unprecedented advancements in the field of Information Technology (IT), achieving in a decade what traditionally required several decades. The country’s digital public infrastructure (DPI) has garnered global recognition, with transformative initiatives such as Jan Dhan, Aadhaar, Mobile (JAM), FASTag, PM GatiShakti, and Unified Payments Interface (UPI). These initiatives have propelled India into the league of the world’s most digitized nations, demonstrating the power of innovation and strategic vision.

Built on a robust IT foundation, these DPIs are deeply integrated into everyday life, with technology and artificial intelligence (AI) driving significant changes across sectors. At the recent G20 Summit, India’s influence in this domain was evident, with 16 out of 54 globally recognised DPIs originating from the country. This not only underscores India’s leadership but also highlights its role as a global partner, sharing technological expertise in systems like Aadhaar, data centres, and cloud infrastructure with nations worldwide.

India’s progress is not confined to infrastructure alone; it is also leading the adoption of advanced technologies such as facial recognition. This cutting-edge technology is now widely deployed for authentication and verification purposes in key government and private sector programs. Moreover, the Common Service Centres (CSCs), the backbone of India’s eGovernance initiatives, stand as a testament to this growth. With a network of 5,84,000 centres spanning the entire nation, they ensure the accessibility and effectiveness of digital governance.

Its proactive role in adopting and promoting IT and AI has significantly accelerated the country’s technological progress. By fostering innovation and establishing benchmarks, Uttar Pradesh continues to contribute to India’s digital transformation journey.

As India scales new heights in IT and AI, its efforts are not just reshaping the national landscape but also driving global advancements, setting a precedent for nations worldwide to emulate.
