Lok Sabha Elections

The 18th Lok Sabha General Elections culminated on Saturday with the peaceful completion of the seventh and final phase, covering 57 constituencies and recording an approximate voter turnout of 59.45%.

Vote counting for the General Election and the State Legislative Assemblies of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha, along with Assembly bye-elections, will begin on June 4, 2024, at 8 AM. Counting for the State Legislative Assemblies of Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh is set to start on June 2, 2024, at 6 AM. Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar, along with Election Commissioners Gyanesh Kumar and Dr. Sukhbir Singh Sandhu, reviewed preparations with all Chief Electoral Officers and Returning Officers.

Election results will be available on the ECI website and the Voter Helpline App, downloadable from Google Play and Apple Play stores.

  2. Smooth Conduct: The Election Commission commended voters, polling personnel, security forces, and volunteers for ensuring a smooth and peaceful election process across all seven phases.
  3. High Participation: Notable voter turnout included 58.58% in Jammu and Kashmir and a remarkable 68.29% in Bastar.
  4. Inclusivity: Significant strides in women voter turnout, the introduction of home-voting facilities for the elderly and disabled, and participation from remote tribal communities underscored the inclusivity of these elections.
