The notifications of key appointments and recommendations issued recently are as follows:

  • T K Ramachandran given additional responsibility as Secretary, Ministry of Tourism
    T K Ramachandran, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer from the 1991 Tamil Nadu cadre, currently holding the position of Secretary at the Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways, has been given the additional responsibility of Secretary at the Ministry of Tourism from March 30, 2024, to April 7, 2024, during the leave period of V Vidyavathi, an IAS officer from the 1991 Karnataka cadre.
  • Sandhya Bhullar’s term extended as Joint Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry & Internal Trade
    The tenure of Sandhya Bhullar, an IAS officer from the 2003 Gujarat cadre, serving as Joint Secretary in the Department for Promotion of Industry & Internal Trade, has been extended until February 23, 2025.
  • Vivek Chaturvedi assumes role of DG (Vig), CVO, in CBIC
    Vivek Chaturvedi, previously serving as DG, ARM, has been appointed as Director General (Vigilance) and Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) in the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) for a tenure of three years. Chaturvedi, a 1990-batch IRS-C&IT officer, brings extensive experience to his new role.
  • Unmesh Sharad Wagh takes charge as Chairperson of Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority
    Unmesh Sharad Wagh, Deputy Chairperson of the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority, has been entrusted with the additional responsibility of serving as Chairperson until the appointment of a regular incumbent. Wagh, belonging to the 2000 batch of IRS-C&CE officers, steps into this role with a wealth of experience.
  • Kamal Kishore assumes key position in UNDRR
    Kamal Kishore has been appointed as the Assistant Secretary-General and Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Disaster Risk Reduction at the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR). Currently holding a Secretary to Government of India level post at the National Disaster Management Authority, Kishore brings valuable expertise to his new global role.
  • DK Dubey takes additional charge as MD & CEO of DCI
    Durgesh Kumar Dubey, an officer of the Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS), has been appointed as the Additional Director and Managing Director and CEO (additional charge) of Dredging Corporation of India Limited (DCI). Meanwhile, the tenure of Capt S Divakar, the incumbent MD & CEO (additional charge), has been extended until April 29, 2024, or until Dubey assumes the position.
  • MS Kamath named CEO of MRPL
    Mundkur Shyamprasad Kamath has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL), bringing his extensive experience to lead the organization forward.
  • PK Choudhary appointed as CVO of TCIL
    Pramod Kumar Choudhary, currently serving as Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) at Banaras Locomotive Works (BLW), has been selected for deputation as the Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) at Telecommunications Consultants India Limited (TCIL), Delhi. Choudhary, an officer of the Indian Railway Stores Service (IRSS), will serve an initial period of three years under the Department of Telecommunications.
  • Usha Venugopal appointed as Additional Member (Finance), Railway Board
    Usha Venugopal, an Indian Railway Accounts Service (IRAS) officer from the 1987 batch, previously serving as Principal Executive Director (Revenue) at the Railway Board, has been designated as Additional Member (Finance) at the same board.

  • Aparna Garg assumes role of Director General, Indian Railways Institute of Financial Management (IRIFM)
    Aparna Garg, also from the 1987 IRAS batch, has been appointed as the Director General of the Indian Railways Institute of Financial Management (IRIFM) located in Secunderabad.
  • Dr N K Srivastava takes charge as Additional Member (Revenue), Railway Board
    Dr. N K Srivastava, an IRAS officer from the 1988 batch serving as the Principal Finance Advisor at the North Central Railway (NCR), has been reassigned as an Additional Member (Revenue) at the Railway Board.
