In a significant move towards bolstering renewable energy infrastructure, the Haryana Renewable Energy Development Agency (HAREDA) has announced the selection of companies to provide, install, and commission 24,484 solar water pumping systems. This initiative falls under Component B of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan Yojana (PM-KUSUM).

Among the notable companies, Oswal Pumps secured contracts for 6,471 pumps, followed by Shakti Pumps with 4,573, AVI Appliances with 3,360, Himalayan Solar with 1,748, Rotomag Motors and Controls with 1,086, and Alpex Solar with 1,434 pumps. Additionally, contracts were granted to 19 other companies, collectively accounting for 5,812 solar pumps.

Component B of PM-KUSUM focuses on deploying two million independent solar water pumps to enhance agricultural irrigation. The beneficiaries encompass individual farmers, water user associations, cattle shelters, farmer producer organizations, primary agricultural credit societies, and community-based irrigation systems, with a preference for small and marginal farmers.

Recently, in March 2024, Alpex Solar Limited announced that it received orders for the supply, installation and commissioning of 1,434 solar water pumping systems from the Department of New & Renewable Energy, Government of Haryana.
