
Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a subsidiary of Tata Power, has unveiled ambitious plans to invest Rs 70,000 crore in the development of 10,000 megawatts (MW) of renewable energy power projects in Gujarat. The announcement came during the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between TPREL and the Gujarat government at the ongoing 10th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024 in Gandhinagar.
In a statement, the company revealed that these projects, encompassing solar, wind, hybrid, Round The Clock (RTC), peak, and Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE), are set to generate significant employment opportunities, amounting to approximately 3,000 jobs.
The expansive initiative is slated to cover 50,000 acres of encumbrance-free government land, reinforcing TPREL’s commitment to contributing substantially to the renewable energy sector. The move aligns with the company’s broader vision of sustainable and clean energy development, positioning Tata Power as a key player in the country’s transition towards greener power solutions.
