Tamil Nadu Government shuffles roles – IAS Jayashree Muralidharan becomes Secretary for Social Welfare and Women Empowerment

In a recent administrative reshuffle, the Tamil Nadu government has unveiled a series of significant changes in the assignments of several IAS officers. Here are the officers and their new roles:


  • Jayashree Muralidharan – Appointed as Secretary to the Department of Social Welfare and Women Empowerment.
  • S Nagarajan – Assumes the role of Secretary to the Department of Welfare for Differently-abled Persons, with additional responsibilities overseeing the Human Resources Management Department.
  • L Subramanian – Designated as Secretary to the Tamil Development and Information Department.
  • K S Palanisamy – Set to serve as the Commissioner of Land Administration, contributing to land management initiatives.
  • Shunchongam Jatak Chiru – Takes on a dual role as Principal Secretary/Commissioner of Fisheries and Managing Director of the Tamil Nadu Fisheries Development Corporation.
  • R Selvaraj – Entrusted with the position of Project Director for the Tamil Nadu Road Sector Project-II, with additional responsibilities, including the Chennai-Kanyakumari Industrial Corridor and serving ex-officio as the Managing Director of the Tamil Nadu Road Development Company.
