In a significant bureaucratic overhauling recently , the Government of Assam has executed a comprehensive overhaul involving transfers, postings, and additional charge assignments for 14 seasoned bureaucrats. The reshuffle spans senior ranks such as Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary, and Commissioner across various departments.

Ravi Shankar Prasad, currently serving as Additional Chief Secretary for Environment & Forest and other roles, has been appointed as the Special Chief Secretary for the same department. He also takes on the role of Principal Resident Commissioner of Assam Bhawan, New Delhi, in an additional capacity.

Syedain Abbasi, presently Additional Chief Secretary for Public Health Engineering, Water Resources, and more, has been appointed as the Special Chief Secretary for the same portfolios. He also assumes the role of Chairman for the Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) in an additional capacity.

Dr Ashish Kumar Bhutani, currently holding multiple portfolios including Agriculture and Transformation & Development Departments, has been elevated to the position of Special Chief Secretary for the same department.

Dr Ravi Kota, serving as Additional Chief Secretary for Home & Political, has been appointed as the Chief Secretary following the superannuation of Shri Paban Kumar Borthakur. He also takes on additional responsibilities in the Industries, Commerce & Public Enterprises and Finance Department.

Kailash Chand Samaria, Chairman of the Board of Revenue, is assigned the additional responsibility of Additional Chief Secretary for the Fishery Department.

Avinash Purushottam Das Joshi, currently serving as Additional Chief Secretary for General Administration and more, has been transferred and appointed as the Additional Chief Secretary for Home & Political Department.

Dr Krishna Kumar Dwivedi presently serving as Principal Secretary for Personnel and Power (E) Department, has been transferred to the position of Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister of Assam.

Dr Patibandla Ashok Babu, returning from central deputation, is appointed as the Commissioner & Secretary for Health & Family Welfare Department, Assam.

M S Manivannan, currently Commissioner & Secretary for General Administration and more, has been appointed as the Commissioner & Secretary for the Personnel Department.

Akash Deep, serving as Principal Secretary cum CEO for Bodoland Territorial Region, Kokrajhar, Assam, has been relieved from the additional charge of Project Director for ARIAS.

Rakesh Kumar, currently serving as MD of APDCL and Commissioner & Secretary for Fishery and Excise Departments, has been relieved from the additional charge of Commissioner of Excise, Assam.

Virendra Mittal, returning from Central Deputation, has been posted as Commissioner & Secretary for Social Justice & Empowerment and Irrigation Departments, with additional charge as Project Director for ARIAS.

Biswajit Pegu, previously serving as Secretary for Social Justice & Empowerment and Home & Political Departments, has been transferred and appointed as Secretary for Home & Political Department, Assam.
