In a significant development on Friday, Ms. Ankita Chakravarty, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer from the AGMUT cadre’s 2013 batch, has been named as the Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs. This appointment comes as part of the Central Staffing Scheme (CSS) and is valid for a four-year term from the date she assumes the role or until further directives are issued, whichever occurs first. The order announcing her appointment was issued by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT).

Ms. Chakravarty’s nomination for Central Deputation was put forward by the Ministry of Home Affairs, reflecting her expertise and capabilities in the field.

Currently serving as the Secretary of the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) and the CEO of NDMC Smart City Limited, Ankita Chakravarty will transition to her new role in the Ministry of Home Affairs with immediate effect, as indicated in the final paragraph of the directive.
