Rajasthan Government

In a recent administrative shakeup, the Rajasthan government has executed a major transfer of 40 officers, comprising 20 from the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and 20 from the Indian Police Service (IPS), all within the state. This significant overhaul includes pivotal changes in positions for five district collectors and six district superintendents of police (SP), as per the transfer orders issued by the Department of Personnel on Sunday night.

These changes come as the state gears up for the highly anticipated Rajasthan state assembly elections scheduled later this year. Notable alterations in key administrative roles include the appointment of new district collectors in Kekri, Tonk, Chittorgarh, Jhunjhunu, and Khairthal.

VM Sharma has taken the reins as the new collector in Kekri, Gaurav Agrawal assumes the position in Chittorgarh, Hanuman Mal Dhaka leads in Khairthal, Bachnesh Kumar Agrawal takes charge in Jhunjhunu, and Omprakash Bairwa steps in as the collector in Tonk.

Furthermore, in a significant move, Arushi Malik has been designated as the new division commissioner of Jaipur, and Manisha Arora will now head the transport commissioner’s office.

Within the law enforcement sector, the reshuffle has affected the roles of SPs in Jhunjhunu, Bhilwara, Kekri, Shahpura, Gangapur City, and Dudu, among the 20 IPS officers who have been transferred as part of this sweeping administrative reorganization. These alterations represent a substantial shift in key positions within the state’s bureaucracy and law enforcement agencies, setting the stage for potential changes in the administration’s approach as the state prepares for the upcoming elections.
