The 12th eGov Knowledge Exchange Summit, held on October 20, 2023, in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, marked a significant milestone in the field of governance and digital transformation. Organised by the Department of Electronics & Information Technology, Government of Kerala in collaboration with Elets Technomedia, the summit brought together thought leaders, policymakers, and experts from various sectors.
Under the guidance of Programme Chair, Dr. Rathan U Kelkar, IAS, Secretary of Electronics & Information Technology & Environment Department, Government of Kerala, and Co-programme Chair, Anu Kumari, IAS, Director of Kerala State IT Mission, the summit provided a platform for constructive dialogue and innovative ideation.
Anu Kumari, Director, Kerala State IT Mission, highlighted Kerala’s pioneering role in e-governance, stating, “Kerala is the first state to become a fully e-governed state. Technology is at the forefront of delivering public services to citizens in the state for any department or institution.” A particular highlight of the summit was the launch of a dedicated eGov issue showcasing Kerala’s remarkable IT transformation in the realm of governance.
Dr. Rathan U Kelkar, Secretary, Electronics & Information Technology and Environment Department, Government of Kerala, expressed his gratitude, saying, “The collaborative efforts of both the Kerala State IT Mission and Team Elets have been truly commendable in orchestrating this summit.”
The summit focused on the transformative potential of digital technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Data Analytics in delivering citizen-centric governance across various sectors. Discussions covered topics such as collaborative development for inclusive progress, optimising government processes through digital initiatives, and building digital infrastructure for the future.
Dr. Ravi Gupta, Founder, Publisher & CEO, Elets Technomedia, emphasised the organisation’s commitment to transforming India’s e-governance sector and partnering with state governments. He stated, “Elets has been organising various conferences to transform India’s e-governance sector in the last 20 years and has partnered with various state governments in this regard.”
