In a significant administrative reorganisation within Uttar Pradesh, the state government under the leadership of Yogi Adityanath has transferred nine IAS officers and two senior PCS officers.

Rajesh Kumar Pandey, an IAS officer from the 2012 batch, has been appointed as the new District Magistrate (DM) of Jalaun. He was previously serving as the Special Secretary in the Agriculture Production Commissioner Branch and as the Joint Managing Director of Jal Nigam Rural. The current Jalaun DM, Chandni Singh, an IAS officer from the 2013 batch, will be going on maternity leave.

Markandeya Shahi, an IAS officer from the 2009 batch, has been designated as the Acting Labour Commissioner. His previous posting was as the Special Secretary in the Food and Logistics Department and as the Controller of the Legal Metrology Department. Until now, the additional responsibility of Labour Commissioner in Kanpur was held by the Divisional Commissioner of Kanpur. Mr. Shahi is scheduled for promotion to the position of Commissioner and Secretary in January 2025.

An IAS officer from the 2017 batch, Ms. Anuj Malik, who was serving as the Additional Commissioner and Divisional Food Controller in Gorakhpur, has now been assigned the role of Divisional Food Controller. Additionally, she has been entrusted with the responsibilities of Officer on Special Duty in the Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority.


Rajesh Kumar Prajapati, an IAS officer from the 2012 batch and the Chief Development Officer (CDO) of Basti, has been appointed as the Special Secretary in the Agriculture Production Commissioner Branch. Meanwhile, Mr. Jaidev CS, an IAS officer from the 2020 batch who was serving as the Joint Magistrate in Varanasi, has been appointed as the new CDO of Basti.

Ms. Neha Bandhu, an IAS officer from the 2020 batch and the Joint Magistrate in Gorakhpur, has taken on the role of CDO in Mainpuri. Pratyush Pandey, another IAS officer from the 2020 batch who was serving as the Joint Magistrate in Bareilly, has been designated as the CDO of Deoria.

Mr. Divya Prakash Giri, an IAS officer from the 2010 batch and the Staff Officer to the Chief Secretary, has been appointed as the Special Secretary of Excise. Furthermore, Mr. Uday Bhanu Tripathi, an IAS officer from the 2011 batch and the Special Secretary in the Excise Department, has been given the responsibility of Special Secretary in the Housing and Urban Planning Department.

Among the two PCS officers, Ravindra Kumar, the CDO of Deoria, has been appointed as the Staff Officer to the Chief Secretary, while Vinod Kumar, the CDO of Mainpuri, has been designated as the Special Secretary in the Public Works Department. Both of these officers are expected to be promoted to the IAS cadre, as the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) has already completed the necessary assessments for their promotion.
