6 IAS transferred in UP, Mahendra P Agarwal appointed PS Higher Education Ministry

In a significant administrative reshuffle, the Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh has moved around 6 IAS officers shortly after the municipal poll results were announced. Among the transfers, a commissioner and two district magistrates were affected.

Mr. Mahendra Prasad Agarwal, an IAS officer from the 1997 batch and Divisional Commissioner of Devipatan Mandal, has been reassigned as the Principal Secretary of the Higher Education Ministry.

Yogeshwar Ram Mishra, an IAS officer from the 2005 batch and Basti Commissioner, has been appointed as the new Commissioner of Devipatan.

Sudhir M Bobde, an IAS officer from the 1990 batch, has been promoted to Additional Chief Secretary to the Governor. Meanwhile, Ms. Kalpana Awasthi, also from the 1990 batch, has been relieved of her duties at the Raj Bhavan and appointed as the Additional Chief Secretary in Technical Education.

Mr. Lokesh M, an IAS officer from the 2003 batch and Commissioner of Saharanpur, will take over as the new commissioner of Basti, succeeding Yogeshwar Ram Mishra.

Dinesh Chandra, an IAS officer from the 2012 batch who previously served as the District Magistrate of Bahraich, has been appointed as the new District Magistrate of Saharanpur. IAS officer Akhilesh Singh has been transferred from Saharanpur, and Monika Rani, an IAS officer from the 2010 batch, will take over as the new District Magistrate of Bahraich.
