Google for India 2022

The use of artificial intelligence (AI) in real-world scenarios was a major focus of the Google for India 2022 event, which ended on December 19. According to Google, AI has the potential to address a variety of problems in a nation like India.

In his interaction with Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister for Communications, Electronics, and IT, Sundar Pichai, the CEO of Google and Alphabet, indicated that Google’s India Digitization Fund (IDF) will place more emphasis on women-owned enterprises and start-ups. In 2020, Google IDF was introduced with a $10 billion grant.

Mr Pichai stated that sensible regulation is welcomed with regard to the digital legislation that would be a component of the Data Protection Bill. He further said that Google Pay might go global.

Under Project Vani, Google is developing a single, unified AI model that can handle over 100 Indian languages in both speech and text. This will be a component of their global initiative to make the 1,000 most spoken languages available online so that users can access knowledge and information in the language of their choice.


The company officials from Google announced a number of new products, projects, and innovations at its annual Google for India event.The 8th edition of Google for India 2022 was also live-streamed on YouTube. In order to advance India’s digital economy, the company unveiled new AI-based solutions and a number of new relationships with Indian brands.

“AI can solve energy and food security issues,” said Sanjay Gupta, Google’s Country Head and Vice President, India.

With the use of its landscape understanding model, Google is also working to provide real-time AI-based monitoring solutions for Indian farmers.

The American-based corporation is collaborating with IIT Madras to establish a new, multidisciplinary centre for a responsible AI. According to Google, a grant of $1 million has been approved for this centre.
