In a major bureaucratic reshuffle, the Central government has announced big changes. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the following appointments:

Nagendra Nath Sinha who has been handling charge of Secretary, Department of Rural Development, Ministry of Rural Development will be posted as Officer on Special Duty, Ministry of Steel w,e.f. 01.12.2022. Aramane Giridhar who was Secretary, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways will now be Officer on Special Duty, Department of Defence, Ministry of Defence. Vivek Joshi, who was posted in the Ministry of Home Affairs as Registrar General of India and Census Commissioner has now been given the charge of Secretary, Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance. He will replace Sanjay Malhotra who is given the charge of Secretary, Department of Revenue . He will replace Tarun Bajaj, lAS upon his superannuation on 30.11.2022.

Amrit Lal Meena, who was Special Secretary (Logistics) Department for Promotion of Industry & Internal Trade in the Ministry of Commerce & Industry has been given the charge of Officer on Special Duty, Ministry of Coal. Bhupinder Singh Bhalla who was Officer on Special Duty in the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has been given the charge of Secretary in the same department. He will replace Shri Indu Shekhar Chaturvedi upon his superannuation on 31.10.2022. Sanjay Kumar who is Secretary in the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports will be posted as Officer on Special Duty, Department of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Education.

Meeta R. Lochan who is Member Secretary, National Commission for Women, Ministry of Women and Child Development has been given charge of Secretary, Department of Youth Affairs, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. Alka Upadhyaya who was Chairperson of National Highways Authority of India in Ministry of Road Transport & Highways has been given charge of Secretary in the same ministry. Manoj Govil presently in the Cadre has been given charge of Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs.

Shailesh Kumar Singh who is Additional Secretary and Development Commissioner in the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises has been made Officer on Special Duty, Department of Rural Development, Ministry of Rural Development. The officer will take over as Secretary, Department of Rural Development, Ministry of Rural Development in place of Nagendra Nath Sinha upon his appointment as Officer on Special Duty, Ministry of Steel w.e.f. 01.12.2022.

Sudhansh Pant who is presently in the Cadre has been made Officer on Special Duty, Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways w.e.f. 01.12.2022. The officer will take over as Secretary, Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways in place of Sanjeev Ranjan upon his superannuation on 31 .01 .2023. Kamran Rizvi who is Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs has been posted as Officer on Special Duty in the Ministry of Heavy Industries.

Rachna Shah who is Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Commerce & Industry has been given charge of Officer on Special Duty, Ministry of Textiles. The officer will take over as Secretary, Ministry of Textiles in place of Upendra Prasad Singh upon his superannuation on 31.10.2022. Mritunjay Kumar Narayan who was Additional Secretary, Department of Home in the Ministry of Home Affairs has been made Registrar General of India and Census Commissioner, Ministry of Home Affairs in the same ministry.
