Major Bureaucratic Rejig in Punjab, 11 IAS Officers Assigned New Charges

In a bid to reshuffle the administrative lineup in the State, the Government of Punjab issued orders to transfer and post 11 IAS officers across the state, on Thursday, 31st April 2022.


  1. Mohinder Pal (IAS 2008-Batch) has been transferred and appointed as Special Secretary, Home Affairs & Justice.
  2. Ramvir (IAS 2009-Batch) will take over the post of Director General, Employment Generation & Training. He will also hold the additional charge of Mission Director (MD), Punjab Skill Development Mission.
  3. Harish Nayar (IAS 2009-Batch) has been transferred and posted as Deputy Commissioner, Barnala.
  4. Kumar Amit (IAS 2010-Batch) has been assigned the charges of Special Secretary, Personnel. Amit will also take up the additional charges of MD, Punjab Small Industries Export Corporation and Special Secretary to Chief Minister.
  5. Kumar Saurabh Raj (IAS 2011-Batch) has been made Director, Technical Education and Industrial Training.
  6. Vineet Kumar (IAS 2012-Batch) will assume the post of Special Secretary, Agriculture with the additional charge of Punjab State Warehousing Corporation.
  7. Kulwant Singh (IAS 2012-Batch) has been given the charge of Deputy Commissioner, Moga.
  8. Showkat Ahmad Parray (IAS 2013-Batch) will take over the post of Deputy Commissioner, Bathinda.
  9. Jitendra Jorwal (IAS 2014-Batch) has been made Deputy Commissioner, Sangrur.
  10. Jaspreet Singh (IAS 2014-Batch) will assume the charge of Deputy Commissioner, Mansa.
  11. Himanshu Jain (IAS 2017-Batch) has been transferred and appointed as Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister.
