A Venu Prasad assumes charge as Additional Chief Secretary to Punjab CM

Senior IAS officer A Venu Prasad has been appointed as the additional chief secretary to the Punjab chief minister.
The 1991-batch IAS officer was the additional chief secretary, taxation and parliamentary affairs. He also held the charge of chairman-cum-managing director, Punjab State Transmission Corporation Limited.
Earlier, he served as the principal secretary, water resources, power and local government. He was the deputy commissioner of Faridkot from October 1999 to May 2003.
This is the first administrative change following the change of guard in the state. Bhagwant Mann will be sworn-in as Punjab Chief Minister on March 16.
