In a major move to realign the bureaucratic lineup in the Central ministries and departments, the Government of India appointed Abhishek Singh as CEO, National e-Governance Division (NeGD), Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY). The Department of Personnel and Training issued transfer orders on February 23, 2022, while the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet gave its approval on the order.
The 1995-Batch IAS officer, Singh belongs to Nagaland cadre and was previously holding the post of CEO, MyGov. As per the DoPT orders, he will hold the post in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary. Also, Singh will continue to hold the post of Managing Director and CEO, Digital India Corporation.
