The Government of India, recently, nodded to a proposal tabled by the Government of Andhra Pradesh seeking extension of the tenure of Chief Secretary Sameer Sharma. The 1985-Batch IAS officer has been given the extension of six months from December 1, 2021 to May 31, 2022.
Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has written to the Central government seeking CS Sameer Sharma’s earlier this month.

Sameer Sharma took the charge of Chief Secretary from the outgoing CS Dr Adityanath Das after his retirement on October 1, 2021.
