CM Nitish Kumar inducts Bihar’s new Cabinet Complete List of Minister with Portfolios

After winning the seat of Chief Minister of Bihar for the seventh time, Nitish Kumar along with a 14-member council of ministers was sworn in at the oath-taking ceremony by Governor Phagu Chauhan on November 16. In the Bihar assembly, after the elections, NDA secured 125 seats of which BJP secured 74, JDU 43, and VIP and HAM(S) got four seats each.

Bihar Cabinet – Ministers & Portfolios

  1. Nitish Kumar took oath as the Chief Minister of Bihar for the seventh time and became the longest-serving CM at the age of 69. Kumar, apart from being the CM, will head the Home, General Administration, Vigilance, and three other departments.

  1. Tarkishore Prasad took oath as the Deputy Chief Minister of the State. He has been allotted the charge of Finance, Commercial Tax, Environment, Forest and Disaster Management, Urban Development and Information Technology departments.

  1. Renu Devi was also sworn in as the Deputy Chief Minister of the State. She has been made the Minister for Panchayati Raj, Backward Classes Development, ECB and Industry.

  1. Mangal Pandey has been allotted the Health department. He will also be the Minister for Road, Construction, Art and Culture departments.

  1. Amrendra Pratap Singh was sworn in as the Minister for Agriculture, Cooperatives and Sugarcane.

  1. Mukesh Sahni, the only leader from Vikassheel Insan Party (VIP) in the cabinet, was sworn in as the Minister for Animal Husbandry and Fisheries.

  1. Santosh Kumar Suman was sworn in as the Minister for SC/ST Affairs and Minor Irrigation.

  1. Ashok Choudhary took the oath as the Minister for Building Construction, Social Welfare, Minority Affairs departments.

  1. Vijay Kumar Choudhary has been named as the Minister for Rural Development, Rural Engineering, Water Resources, Information and Broadcasting and Parliamentary Affairs.

  1. Vijendra Prasad Yadav took oath as the Minister for Energy in the newly elected cabinet.

  1. Mewa Lal Choudhary was sworn in as a minister in the cabinet for the newly elected Government of Bihar. Choudhary has been allotted the charge of Education department.

  1. Rampreet Paswan was sworn in as the Minister for Public Health Engineering.

  1. Sheela Mandal took the oath, at the ceremony, as the Transport Minister in the newly elected cabinet.

  1. Ram Surat Kumar Rai, a first-time minister, was sworn in as the Minister for Revenue, Land Reforms and Law departments.
