288 Chaupals of Karnal equipped with optical fibre network, WiFi facility: CM Khattar

Chief Minister of Haryana Manohar Lal Khattar inaugurated e-chaupal programme on the occasion of Haryana Day, on November 1. As a part of the e-chaupal programme, as many as 288 ‘chaupals’ of Karnal district were equipped with wi-fi facility under the Bharat Net Project, announced the CM during the inaugural ceremony.

In his address, CM Khattar said that out of 382 Gram panchayats in Karnal, 288 panchayats have been equipped with the optical fibre network and WiFi facilities. However, the facility is functional in 225 chaupals as of yet and further work is being carried out.

Moreover, the internet charges are kept very low at Rs 10 so that everyone can afford the service. Now, the people who had to visit a government office for every little work can now avail as many as 550 services online from the comfort of their homes, added the CM.
