Punjab’s Bureaucratic Rejig: 33 IPS & PPS officers transferred

Following a nod from the Government of Punjab for a major bureaucratic rejig, as many as 33 IPS officers in the state have been transferred.

Swapan Sharma, SSP, Ropar, has now been posted as AIG, counterintelligence. Sharma will be replacing Kanwardeep Singh. Whereas, Kanwardeep Singh has been given the charge of joint commissioner of police, Ludhiana Rural. Vikram Jeet Singh Duggal, SSP, Amritsar Rural, will assume his new charge as SSP, Patiala. Mandeep Singh Sidhu, the current SSP of Patiala has been posted as SSP Vigilance Bureau, Patiala. D Sudarvizhi has been made SSP, Muktsar replacing Raj Bachan Singh Sandhu who has been given the charge of joint commissioner (headquarters) Amritsar. Akhil Chaudhary has been made the new SSP Ropar. Deepak Hilori has been posted as AIG, counterintelligence. Whereas, Gulneet Khurana will become the new SSP, Pathankot.

Jaspreet Singh Sidhu has been posted as SSP, Kapurthala, while, Satinder Singh has been posted as SSP, Jalandhar Rural. Navjot Mahal has been made SSP, Hoshiarpur and Guaran Garg has been made AIG (personnel). J Elanchezian has been given the charge of the joint commissioner, headquarters, at Ludhiana.

Dhruman S Nimble will take the charge of SSP Tarn Taran, while Dhur Dahiyam will now be SSP, Amritsar rural. Bhupinder Singh Virk (PPS officer) will take charge of Bathinda replacing Nanak Singh. Rashpal Singh has been posted as SSP Batala replacing Opinderjit Singh Virk.

Punjab DGP’s staff officer and IPS-rank officer Surendra Lamba has been posted as SSP, Mansa. Narinder Bhargav has been given the charge of SSP, Vigilance Bureau, Bathinda. JS Saini will now be new staff officer to DGP Punjab.
