In this period of nationwide lockdown due to the coivd-19 outbreak, the Government of Odisha said today that it is preparing to set up the largest Covid-19 hospital in India. The proposed healthcare facility will have about 1,000 beds and will be up and ready for use in a fortnight, as per media sources. The aim is to cater the growing number of coronavirus cases and therefore, the state is trying to get the facility up and running at the earliest.
The State government have signed two MoUs with SUM Medical College and KIMS Medical College to set up the facility that will house 1,000 beds in Bhubaneswar.
The Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) and the Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) have come to aid the state financially by providing the CSR fundings for the state-of-the-art hospital.
