Delhi HC to hold court proceeding via video conferencing

Amid the Coronavirus outbreak, the Delhi High Court, today, said that it is experimenting to hold courtroom proceedings through video conferencing. Moreover, the system to hold proceedings on digital platforms will be in place by next week.


The High Court bench headed by Chief Justice DN Patel and Justice C Hari Shankar said that the trial runs are being conducted to ensure that the new system works smoothly and successfully.

Further, the HC said that proceedings for a few cases might be taken up through video conferencing. The directions came in while the bench was hearing a plea seeking holding of courtroom proceedings online to prevent entry of any COVID-19 infected person to the court premises.
