In a bid to take stringent preventive measures against the further spread of COVID-19, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) decided to sanitise city’s thoroughfares, markets, offices, and the places from where cases of the viral infection have surfaced. The civic body will be using drones and machines to carry out the disinfection drive.
According to an official press release, the BBMP will be spraying sodium hypochlorite to disinfect the places citywide and keep a check on the spread of communicable diseases.
Goutham Kumar, Mayor of Bengaluru said that besides using mechanical sweepers and drones, the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) will be providing the municipal body temporarily with 10 jetting machines, each with 7,000 litre capacity for the purpose of sanitising neighbourhoods. Also, the Fire tenders will also be roped in to serve the cause.

As of yet, the jetting machines were used at Hudson Circle, Town Hall, K.R. Market and surrounding areas on Tuesday, March 24.
