Centre appoints 17 Joint Secretaries across departments

Appointment Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has given nod for the appointment of 17 officers as Joint Secretaries to the Centre at various departments.

Sushma Taishete (1988-Batch) has been appointed as the Joint Secretary to the Department of Atomic Energy. Taishete currently holds the position of Joint Secretary, Department of Justice.

N B S Rajput, a 1999-Batch officer has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances.

Deepak Kapoor (1998-Batch) has been given the charge of Government e-Marketplace (GeM) SPV as the Additional Chief Executive Officer (CEO) under the Department of Commerce.

A 1997-Batch IAS officer, Surendra K Ahirwar becomes the Joint Secretary to the Department of Commerce.

Aditi Das Rout (1986-Batch) has been made the Joint Secretary, Ministry of Culture.

Satish Singh, IAS officer from 1996-Batch, has been appointed as the Joint Secretary to the Department of Defence. Mukta Shekhar (1994-Batch) has been given the charge of Department of Food and Public Distribution as Joint Secretary. Atul Saxena (1991-Batch) has been appointed as the Joint Secretary to the Ministry of Food Processing Industries.

The 1996-Batch IAS officer, Purushottam Tiwary has been made the Joint Secretary to Department of Heavy Industries while Neerja Shekhar (1993-Batch) has been made the Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

Niraj Kumar Gayagi (1997-Batch) takes the charge of Department of Justice as Joint Secretary.

Charanpreet Singh Bakshi, a 1992-Batch IAS officer has been made Joint Secretary to the Ministry of Minority Affairs.

KV Pratap (1992-Batch) has been posted as Joint Secretary to Ministry of Home Affairs. Pratap presently holds the position of Joint Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs.

Baldeo Purusharth, (2002-Batch) takes the charge of Department of Economic Affairs as Joint Secretary. Navneet Mohan Kothari, a 2001-Batch IAS officer has been posted as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.

Sanjay Kumar Jain (1990-Batch) has been made Joint Secretary, Department of Public Enterprises whereas, Tanweer Qamar Mohammad, a 1994-Batch officer has been appointed as Joint Secretary to Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation.
