Anil Mukim appointed as the 29th Chief Secretary of Gujarat

The government of Gujarat has appointed Anil Mukim as the new chief secretary of the state.


He took charge in place of J N Singh, whose six-month post-retirement tenure ended on November 30.

Mukim is a 1985-Batch Gujarat cadre IAS officer. Earlier to this, he was serving as the Union Mines Secretary for the Government of India.

He is known for his administrative skills and for the past three years he has been on central deputation. He last served in the state as the additional chief secretary, general administrative department till February 2016.


Mukim is set to retire in August next year.
