
Ajay Bhadoo, 1999-Batch officer has been appointed as Joint Secretary to President Ram Nath Kovind. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved the appointment on Saturday.
“The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Ajay Bhadoo, IAS (1999-Batch) as Joint Secretary to the President for a tenure co-terminus with the President,” stated a press communique.
The Gujarat batch IAS officer is currently serving as the Vadodara Municipal Commissioner since July 2018. He was also holding the post of Chairman, Vadodara Urban Development Authority.

Bhadoo began his civil services career as an Assistant Collector in Surat and then in Junagadh. He has served in various capacities and held positions like Collector, Municipal Commissioner and also Secretary to the Chief Minister of Gujarat. He was conferred the Best Collector Award twice for outstanding performance in 2008 and 2010.

During his stint as Bharuch District Development Officer in 2003-04, he introduced Biometric Attendance System for government employees.

During his stint as the District Collector of Mehsana, he undertook initiatives related to water conservation, digitisation of land records and online file tracking, revival of public libraries and modernisation of the mid-day meal kitchens in the district.
Bhadoo has also worked as CEO and Vice Chairman of Gujarat Maritime Board, Chief Executive Officer of Gujarat Infrastructure Development Board, Dholera Special Investment Regional Development Authority, Managing Director of Gujarat Industrial Corridor Corporation and Dholera International Airport Company.
Hailing from Rajasthan, Bhadoo has pursued Civil Engineering from National Institute of Technology (NIT) Jaipur.
