P Narahari


Parikipandla Narahari, 2001-Batch IAS officer has assumed the office as Commissioner, Urban Administration Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh.

Prior to this post, he was the Secretary & Commissioner, Public Relations Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh.

As an officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre, he has held various posts such as Secretary (Revenue), District Magistrate & Collector of Seoni, Singrauli, Gwalior and Indore. He was also the Chief Executive Officer and  ex-officio Additional Collector (Development); Project Director ICDS & IFAD, Managing Director WFDC and ex-officio Deputy Secretary in Women and Child Development Department, Bhopal.


Narahari was also the Municipal Commissioner of Indore Municipal Corporation. During the initial stage of his administrative career, he has served as the SDO (Revenue) & SDM of Dabra and Mhow and Assistant Collector of Chhindwara and Murar.

Hailing from Telangana, Narahari has pursued Mechanical Engineering from Osmania University, Hyderabad. He has written two books titled Who Owns Mhow and The Making of Ladli Laxmi Yojna.


Narahari is also the recepient of around 40 awards for his contribution to the development of the state of Madhya Pradesh in his administrative career, including ational Award for “Empowerment of Persons with Diabilities” by the then President of India Pranab Mukherjee for creation of barrier-free environment for the persons with disabilities in Gwalior.
