UIDAI Address

All the government employees in Kerala will now need their Aadhar number to draw salaries.

In its latest move, the state government has made Aadhaar-based attendance compulsory for all government offices. The biometric punching system, that has to be implemented within 6 months, will be linked with SPARK salary software, through which all government offices receive their salaries in the state.

The new biometric system, approved by UIDAI, will get the software for installation, from the National Informatics Centre (NIC).

According to the recent state order regarding the same, “The Aadhaar-based biometric punching system should be set up in SPARK (Service and Payroll Administrative Repository for Kerala) linked disbursal of salaries in all government offices, education centres.”

The latest move by the Kerala government contradicts Left parties which have been vocal against biometric identification project and Aadhaar, countrywide.

As such, 560,000 officials, from those in the state secretariat to government schools, will be affected by the latest development.
