Randeep D

The transfer order of IAS officer Randeep D  has been reversed by the Karnataka Government after public outcry.

Randeep DRandeep D was recently shunted out from his position as the Additional Commissioner of Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike and was given the charge of Commissioner of Social Welfare Department.

Randeep D was a hit amongst the Bengaluru residents owing to his solid waste management initiatives. After his transfer orders, the citizens were running an online campaign to bring him back. The online petition received the support of 900 people.

He is often credited for setting up Solid Waste Management control room, and bringing proposals of GPS tracking of auto tippers and compactors and updating the microplan.

He was also responsible for implementation of standard operating procedures with regards to the BBMP’s Animal Husbandry Department.

Questions were also raised on his transfer orders as he had taken up his position at BBMP only five months ago.

He was also left out of a delegation headed by Bengaluru Development Minister G Parameshwara (also the Deputy CM) that visited France to study the feasibility of waste-to-energy plants and waste management processes of French municipalities.

After public pressure mounted, the State Government had to take back his transfer order.
