Leading by example, IAS couple Nitin and Swati Bhadauria have enrolled their son in the Anganwadi Centre of Gopeshwar in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand.
Swati Bhadauria is District Magistrate (DM) of Chamoli while Nitin Bhadauria is the DM of Almora.
“It’s a good facility with a good atmosphere for kids. It facilitates physical, mental and social growth of the children. Baby Boy enjoys being there, learns poems, plays and shares his food with the kids there. He is excited about going there,” said Swati Bhadauria while speaking to Elets News Network (ENN).
Both the parents are excited for their son who is adjusting well in the Anganwadi Centre.
Anganwadi centres is a scheme launched in 1975 with the objectives to improve the nutritional and health status of children in the age-group 0-6 years.
The aim of these centres is to lay the foundation for proper psychological, physical and social development of the child, to reduce the incidence of mortality, morbidity, malnutrition and school dropout, to achieve effective co-ordination of policy and implementation amongst the various departments to promote child development; and to enhance the capability of the mother to look after the normal health and nutritional needs of the child through proper nutrition and health education.
Swati and Nitin Bhadauria were earlier posted in Haridwar. While Nitin Bhadauria was Vice-Chairman, Haridwar Roorkee Development Authority, Swati was Chief Development Officer of Haridwar.
