Uber Elevate


Uber ElevateUber Elevate, the aerial arm of Uber is planning to enter Indian market through its aerial taxis.

India is one of the five countries selected by the company where it is planning to launch this facility.

Uber has already communicated the same to Aviation Minister Jayant Sinha in a meeting.


In an earlier meeting with Uber’s CEO Dara Khosrowshahi on February 22, the Minister had discussed the need to introduce aerial taxi services was discussed, considering the large consumer base of India.

The aerial taxis will be small vertical take off and landing aircraft (VTOL)  which will make use of electric propulsion, which will be quiet, barely audible at flying altitude.


Distances upto 50 km can be covered through such taxis running at a speed of 150 and 200 miles per hour, and up to 2,000 feet above the ground.

In the beginning, this service will be launched in those cities who are battling heavy traffic.
