12 top IAS officers transferred in Punjab

As the new Congress government was sworn in a major bureaucratic shuffle was seen with as many as 12 top IAS officers given new portfolios. Karan Avtar Singh, 1984 batch IAS officer has been appointed as the new Chief Secretary to the Government of Punjab.
ejveer Singh who was on central deputation will now be the Special Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister and in addition have charge of Secretary Information and Public Relations and Civil Aviation.
Himmat Singh, member secretary Punjab State Women Commission has been given the charge of special chief secretary Horticulture relieving Nirmaljeet Singh Kalsi and also that of Forests and Wild Life. Sarvesh Kaushal, chief secretary to the government of Punjab for the past SAD BJP alliance government is now special chief secretary cum director general Mahatama Gandhi State Institute of Public Administration.
Karanbir Singh Sidhu who was additional chief secretary revenue and rehabilitation, home affairs and Jails, Irrigation, is now special chief secretary revenue and rehabilitation and has also retained Irrigation.
Karan Avtar Singh who was additional chief secretary, Investment Promotion is now the Chief Secretary to the government of Punjab and in addition Principal Secretary Department of Personnel, General Administration, Vigilance besides retaining Investment Promotion.
Nirmaljeet Singh Kalsi is now Additional Chief Secretary Home Affairs and Jails besides retaining his previous charge of Agriculture, Removal of Grievances, Governance Reforms and Principal Resident Commissioner Punjab Bhawan, New Delhi.
Satish Chandra who was earlier Additional Chief Secretary Finance and Taxation has retained his charge and got additional charge of Cooperation relieving SK Sandhu of the same. S K Sandhu who was earlier additional chief secretary to the Chief Minister has now charge of social security Development of Women and Children.
Raji P Shrivastava earlier principal secretary Personnel is now the Director of Mahatama Gandhi Institute of Public Administration.
Tejveer Singh who was on central deputation will now be the Special Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister and in addition have charge of Secretary Information and Public Relations and Civil Aviation.
Vivek Pratap Singh who was Secretary Vigilance will now have charge of Excise and Taxation while Krishan Kumar now has additional charge of Secretary Personnel besides retaining hat of Expenditure.
