Govt launches national disaster helpline 1078

tollfreeThe Government of India launched a national disaster helpline 1078 to help people seek information about their near and dear ones in earthquake-hit areas.


The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) member-secretary R K Jain said, “The national disaster helpline 1078 is operational. Whatever request we get will be shared with agencies involved in the operation.”

NDMA has also appointed a nodal officer to process requests for relief and rescue.
