cbi_2Arun Kumar Sharma, a 1987 batch IPS officer of Gujarat cadre and Amrit Mohan Prasad, a 1989 batch IPS officer of Odisha cadre have been appointed as Joint Directors in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). AK Sharma is currently heading the Detection wing of Crime Branch in Ahmedabad as Special Commissioner, while Mohan Prasad is posted as Chairman of Odisha Police State Council Board (PSCB).

Simultaneously, Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) has extended the tenure of six Joint Directors who were nearing completion of their tenure under central deputation. Tenure of S Arunachalam, a 1993 batch IPS officer of Tamil Nadu cadre, and Rajeev Sharma, a 1990 batch IAS officer of Rajasthan cadre, have been extended up to June 30, 2015.

Three Joint Directors of CBI, namely Keshav Kumar (IPS:GJ:1986), Prabodh Kumar (IPS:PB: 1987) and RP Agrawal (IPS:AM:1986) have been given extension up to January 2016. In addition, Sunil Kumar Jha (IPS:BH:1993) has been given extension up to April 2016.
