MAKE IN INDIAThe Ministry for Communications and IT has given its green signal to projects worth Rs 6,000 crore under the ‘Make in India’ program.

“The Minister for Communication & IT has said that Rs.6,000 crore worth projects were approved in his ministry under the ‘Make in India’ programme out of proposals worth Rs.20,000 crore that were received,” an official statement here said.

Speaking at the “Make in India-Telecom” conclave organised by the Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT), Minister for Communication & IT Ravi Shankar Prasad said that there is no dearth of talent in India but still we are hugely dependent on imports, especially in electronics and telecom.

He said that the need of the hour is to make a mechanism to interact with the industry before developing technology or a solution rather than post-development.
