UP signs Rs. 5,000-crore MoU in IT sector

The Uttar Praakhileshdesh Government signed MoUs to the tune of Rs. 5000 crore in the information technology sector at “e-UttarPradesh” event organised by the Department of IT & Electronics in association with Elets Technomedia Pvt Ltd.

Speaking at the inauguration of “e-Uttar Pradesh 2015” at Hotel Taj Vivanta on Tuesday, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Akhilesh Yadav underscored the contribution of states, particularly Uttar Pradesh, in making the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Make in India” vision a reality.

An investment of Rs. 5,000 crore is likely to generate employment for 15,000 people. The Chief Minister emphasised that his government is determined to promote and expand the IT sector in the state.

He also assured cooperation to the Central Government in the implementation of welfare measures. In this context, he highlighted that the maximum number of bank accounts under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana have been opened in Uttar Pradesh.

The Chief Minister also laid stress on infrastructure development. “Separate budget allocation has been made for roads and power in the state,” he said.

He also emphasised on the development of manufacturing sector to create more jobs for the unemployed youth.
